Huntington Escrow, Inc. is a California Corporation that providing escrow services to real estate and lending industries.
As required under the California Financial Code, Huntington Escrow uses the services of independent Certified Public Accountants to audit its records and operations on a yearly basis. These financial reports are submitted to the California Department of Business Oversight for its review and approval. In addition, the Department of Business Oversight performs its own internal audit of Huntington Escrow’s records according to the laws and regulations established by the California Financial Code. Additionally, the Department of Business Oversight requires that all employees be fingerprinted and bonded.
As an independently owned escrow company, Huntington Escrow also meets the requirements of the Escrow Agents Fidelity Corporation which, in conjunction with the Department of Business Oversight, processes bonds and certificates for Huntington’s employees. The Escrow Agents Fidelity Corporation also requires that all employees be fingerprinted for its agency records and the employee’s fingerprints and background checks are reviewed and approved by the Department of Justice of the state of California. The strict requirements of the Department of Business Oversight and the Escrow Agents Fidelity Corporation exist to protect consumers and lending agencies from any misuse of funds or documents held in trust by the escrow company.
In order to qualify for a license, an escrow office must be run by an escrow manager with five years’ experience as an escrow officer. This means that the professional manager overseeing your transaction has gained expertise honed by in-depth training. Additionally, a licensed escrow company must post substantial surety bonds and acquire fidelity insurance, available only to companies licensed by the California Department of Business Oversight.
